A Little Background Info About My Natural Hair Journey:
When I was seven years old, my mother gave me a relaxer and I started transitioning at the age of ten. I grew tired of transitioning, so after about three months, I decided to do a "big chop", or in my case, a "mini chop" because when my mother would relax my hair, she washed it out before the relaxer could completely do it's job causing my hair not to be fully relaxed. Therefore, I didn't have to cut too much off. Although I was comfortable with my natural hair, in middle school, I used to straighten it everyday because other kids would make fun of me (I remember one time, I rocked two-strand twists to school and they called me Medusa because my twists were "snakes"). Also, my aunts would sometimes say, "You need to do something with your hair.". Straightening my hair everyday resulted in split ends and heat damage. Right before Freshman year, I cut off all of my damaged and split ends and started off fresh. That's when I realized that taking care of my hair was essential. I began doing research and looking up tons of tutorial videos on YouTube to help me learn how to take care of my hair better and it worked. I decided to create this blog to teach anyone who reads this blog that natural hair is BEAUTIFUL.
Transitioning:
What is Transitioning? Well, I'm here to tell you! Transitioning is when you trim off the relaxer over a period of time. Some people transition because they want their hair to still have length. Some people don't transition because you get those pesky straight ends with different textures which can make styling a bit more difficult. Also, the constant trimming can be costly to depending on that person's financial situation.
Big Chopping:
What is Big Chopping? Big Chopping is when you just cut off all the hair that is still relaxed and you start off new. Some people Big Chop so they don't get those pesky straight ends with different textures which can make styling a bit more difficult. Also, the constant trimming can be costly to depending on that person's financial situation. Some people don't Big Chop because they want their hair to still have length.

Great start! I think the next topic should be how to start a regimen, perhaps giving your regimen as an example.
