Twitter Interviews: Big Chopping and Transitioning--the Ups and Downs of Both with Nile!
Hey! It's Nile of Nerds United Inc. again, and I'm back with another blog! This one is about...NATURAL HAIR! My Twitter followers and Instagram (Follow me on IG: @ineedyoulikethesun) followers often ask me about my hair regimen, my hair type, and what products I use for my hair. Guess what? You'll find out all of this information by reading my blog! You'll also learn about the essentials of natural hair! After you read a post, just tweet me (@NaturallyNi or @NerdsUnitedInc) and tell me what you'd like the next post to be and I'll choose the best one! This post has Two interviews!
Today, I interviewed two young ladies on Twitter named Kira and Alicia. Kira big chopped back in December 2013 and Alicia has been transitioning since September 2013!
Kira: That deep treatment is good!
Me: Oh wow, I can't wait to try it! Can you give me a little review on it?
Kira: When I tried it, just to try it, it made my hair extra soft. My hair wasn't really dry, ya know but it was in a way, so that helped with moisture. My cousin tried it and her hair was really dry like her scalp and everything so when she tried it moisturized her scalp really well. But it may have been because she used a Wen product the week before, but if not then yeah...I hope that made sense and helped lol.
Me: Did you recently do a big chop?
Kira: Two months ago, during Christmas Break I literally experimented with literally every product.
Me: Can you describe how you feel after big chopping?
Kira: I wanted to do it, but then it got annoying because I couldn't do much with the length of my hair, for example just a simple twist out. But now I can actually grasp my hair so now I feel good!
Me: Do you mind if I put what you're saying about your big chop on the blog? This is an interview! :)
Kira: Yeah sure. Oh, and for deep conditioning I use an avocado and/or banana mix for deep conditioning.
Me: What's your curl type? 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b, etc. (Note: These aren't ALL of the curl patterns. I just happened to list these.)
Kira: Mix between 4a and 4b.
Me: Thank you so much Kira!
Kira: You're welcome :)

Me: Okay! So, how long have you been transitioning?
Alicia: It hasn't been that long...since September.
Me: Do you like transitioning?
Alicia: It's okay, but it's a hassle when you wash your hair and your roots get so tangled.
Me: Do you think about just cutting your hair and starting off fresh?
Alicia: Yeah but, since I stopped getting perms, my hair is growing.
Me: Have you been trying new products? If so, which products?
Alicia: Well I've been doing oil treatments, I forgot the name of them though.
.
Me: What's your favorite oil?
Alicia: I don't have a specific favorite oil, I just try different oils to see how they smell and how they make my hair feel.
Me: What are the different oils you've tried? Which one made your hair smell the best? Which one made your hair feel the best?
Alicia: I've tried Vitamin E Oil, the Doo Gro Growth Oil..I forgot the rest. They were the recent ones I've been using. Oh, and Argan Oil. That one smelled the best.
Me: Are you happy with your hair? Do you have any hair goals?
Alicia: I'm not that satisfied with it but, hair just don't grow long over night but, my hair goal is to maintain healthy long hair.
Me: Thank you Alicia for letting me interview you!
Alicia: You're welcome, anything to help you out.
