My Summer Wash and Go Routine (Inspired by AuCurls Naturelle)
Happy Summer!
AuCurls Naturelle, my favorite natural hair YouTube vlogger, creates her own moisturizing leave-in conditioner. Honey, let me tell you--this stuff is THE TRUTH! Here are the products I use to make this conditioner mix:
It's Nile and I've been away for a while. I've recently finished up the school year and now I'm back to blogging. Follow me on Twitter: @NaturallyNi and follow me on Instagram: @ineedyoulikethesun to stay updated.
Today's blog post is about my Summer Wash and Go Routine. This routine was inspired by AuCurls Naturelle on YouTube and involves only FIVE STEPS!
1. Detangling with Oil.
I use my clips and I put my hair into four sections. I coat my fingers with Trader Joe's Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (I purchased this product from Trader Joe's) and I carefully finger detangle my hair on DRY HAIR.
2. Cowashing.
I do my cowashing in two parts. I cowash my hair section by section with the Ion Color Defense Intense Moisture Conditioner (I purchased this product from Sally Beauty Supply). Even though I do not have any color in my hair, this conditioner has great slip, provides excellent moisture, and is 100% vegan (which is a plus!)
After rinsing out each section, I begin to apply the Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner (I purchased this product from Target) section by section and then I rinse it out. This conditioner is one of my favorites because of the slip and moisture it provides. I've been using this conditioner for about two years now.
3. Applying Oil.
After rinsing out the conditioner, I apply Tropic Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil (I purchased this product from my local beauty supply store) to each section of my hair and I allow it to sit for about five minutes. Jamaican Black Castor Oil is a thick oil that penetrates the hair shaft and leaves my hair moisturizer for days.
4. Apply AuCurls Naturelle's Leave-in Recipe.
AuCurls Naturelle, my favorite natural hair YouTube vlogger, creates her own moisturizing leave-in conditioner. Honey, let me tell you--this stuff is THE TRUTH! Here are the products I use to make this conditioner mix:
-2 Tablespoons of Tropic Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil
-3 Tablespoons of Trader Joe's Aloe Vera Juice
-2 Handfuls of Tresemme Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
5. Air Dry or Diffuse.
I let my hair air dry. I don't have a diffuser, but if you do, you can always diffuse!
