BIG CHOPPING AS A FORM OF SELF-CARE.
Hey everyone, it's Tee!
I'm back to write to you guys about something major I've done. The past couple weeks NN (Nerdy Naturals) has been talking about self care. Finding ways to take care of yourself mentally, physically, spiritually etc. can be hard. Especially not knowing where exactly to start. When trying to prepare for the new year, I thought of ways on how I can better myself for 2017. I told myself I was going to start working out, become the bigger person in any situation and be completely focused on ME.

For the past 2 years, I had been wanting to cut my hair into a pixie cut just because I always loved the look of it. I am constantly looking for change when it comes to my hair and I love being able to express myself through beauty. Since the new year was quickly approaching, I felt as if this would be the perfect time to do what I had wanted to do for the longest.
My hair had been extremely damaged from lightening my hair too light back in the summer of 2016. From that point on, my hair was no longer naturally curly and I knew there wasn't a way to recover from the outstanding damage that was done. I would constantly straighten my hair and style it to at least make it look decent on a daily basis. This lead to endless amounts of breakage and dryness of my hair. This cut was crucial in order to get back to the healthy curls that I once had.
Attached below is the video all about my big chop. It shows from start to finish how I did this cut on my own, why I did it, my mom's reaction and more.
After doing this, I had no regrets. I was so happy that I was able to start fresh and go down a path where I would not have to struggle the way I did before with heat and color. I obtained a liberated feeling knowing that my hair did not define me at this point either. Hair can be used to judge and base others automatically off of looks. Knowing that I barely have hair on my head only ensures comfort in the fact that I can be beautiful not only on the outside but on the inside as well. This is no better feeling!
Thank you for reading!!!!
